The Cotton Bowl
Game: Michigan State vs. Baylor
Time: 11:30 a.m. in AT&T Stadium
The cool thing about being a Spartan and Lions fans this week is that both of your teams will be playing their playoff games in the exact same place. That place is none other than one of the largest arenas in America, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Located just 20 minutes west of downtown Dallas, “Jerry World” as the arena is called is a brand new, state of the art facility with tons of features. For starters, it holds the worlds largest HDTV, which weighs 600 tons and is suspended above the field. If you don’t have the best of seats, you will have the worlds largest TV to make sure you don’t miss a second of the action! Inside the arena you will find that the arena is new, spotless and one of the most impressive in the world.
For traveling Spartan fans there will be plenty of chances to get to mix with fans and alumni alike. Since the game is on New Year’s Day, New Year’s Eve will feature a get together at the House of Blues in downtown Dallas. Enjoy fireworks, an appearance from Sparty, food, drinks and more! For more scheduled activities, take a look at the Michigan State alumni network.
On gameday there will be plenty of tailgates to attend as well as your own to put on! If you are taking your RV to Dallas or plan on renting one, get to the game early to set up. With an early kickoff scheduled, it could be a rough new years morning, but the excitement of Spartan football should take over!
