Top Reasons to Invest in RV Industry

2013 was a thriving year for the RV industry and 2014 looks to continue that trend. Thus making this the year to invest in the RV industry, if you haven’t already.

RV sales are at a 6 year high, up a whopping 35% in the first 11 months of 2013, according to Bill Sheffer director of the Michigan Association of Recreational Vehicles and Campgrounds. Consumers at RV shows across the nation are showing increased enthusiasm for RV travel and are buying all types of RV’s from travel trailers to luxury fifth wheels. Sheffer contributes the boost in sales to the revitalized stock market and rising home values.

Another factor in rising RV sales is the fact that younger buyers are succumbing to the RV lifestyle. Younger generations are realizing that it costs less to travel in an RV; saving on the cost of hotel rooms, eating out, and other travel expenses. They are looking at the smaller, more affordable RV’s which can save, on average, anywhere from 23-59% on expenses. But, the majority of RV sales is still made up of the retirement population, and those number of retiring baby boomers increases every year.

Industry representatives are pleased with the increased sales over the past year and expect the trend to continue. So, if you are thinking about investing, now is the time to do it.
